President Trump Confirms Visit to Tennessee Saturday Despite Hurricane Isaias Concerns

by | Oct 9, 2026

President Donald Trump confirmed Friday that he will travel to Tennessee on Saturday for a midterm election rally in Clarksville despite concerns about the remnants of Hurricane Isaias bringing rain and strong winds to the region.

Trump announced the decision in a post on Truth Social Friday afternoon, saying he would skip the Alabama-Georgia football game to avoid diverting first responders and law enforcement from storm preparations.

“Based on the fact that a huge Hurricane/Storm is coming, it is important to have our wonderful First Responders, Law Enforcement, and others, focused on that Storm, and in no way be thinking about the safety, or presence, of the President of the United States, ME!” Trump wrote.

Instead, Trump said he would still travel to Tennessee for a rally supporting Republican congressional candidates, U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), and U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), the Republican nominee for governor.

“Instead, I will go to Tennessee, where we have quickly called a Big Rally in order to get our fantastic Congressional Candidates, our Great Senator, Bill Hagerty, and a woman who will go down as one of the most impactful Governors in the State’s History, Marsha Blackburn, elected!” Trump said.

The rally is scheduled for Saturday at F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville. Doors are scheduled to open at 11 a.m. CST, with Trump’s remarks expected to begin at 2:30 p.m.

Attendees can register for up to four tickets through the event’s registration page.

Trump’s visit comes as Isaias’ projected path shifts eastward, potentially sparing Clarksville from the storm’s heaviest rainfall.

The National Weather Service’s latest forecast showed showers and possibly thunderstorms in Clarksville throughout Saturday, with a high near 69 degrees, rainfall totals between a quarter and half an inch, and wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph. A Wind Advisory remains in effect from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Trump’s Clarksville rally will take place four days before Tennessee’s early voting period begins for the November 3 general election. Early voting runs from Wednesday, October 14 through Thursday, October 29.

The president last visited Tennessee on September 27, when he attended the Tennessee Volunteers’ football game against the Texas Longhorns at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.
