State Senator Brent Taylor (R-Memphis) raised over $400,000 in the last 30 days in his bid for Tennessee’s 9th Congressional District, his campaign announced Wednesday.
“What an amazing milestone achieved through the support and confidence placed in me by the great folks of Tennessee’s Ninth District,” Taylor said in a statement distributed by his campaign.

“This race is far from over, but with the continued help from Tennesseans, we will take Tennessee to the Top! I’m deeply grateful for the generosity, and I’m eager to get to Washington to stand with President Trump and ensure Tennessee’s Ninth District remains the best place in the state to live, work, and raise a family,” Taylor added.
Taylor’s 30-day fundraising milestone comes two months after he kicked off and seeded his congressional campaign with $1 million of his own personal funds.
Since the launch of his campaign, Taylor has received the endorsements of several prominent Republicans at the state, local, and federal levels, including U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Bill Hagerty (R-TN), U.S. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN-06), U.S. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA-01), and U.S. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH-04).
Taylor faces State Representative Todd Warner (R-Chapel Hill), Charlotte Bergmann, and Jeremy Thompson in the Republican primary for Tennessee’s newly redrawn 9th Congressional District.
State Senator London Lamar (D-Memphis), State Representative Justin Pearson (D-Memphis), La Troy A-Williams, and Jim Torino are competing for the Democratic nomination.
Early voting for the August 6 primary election begins July 17 and runs through August 1. The last day to request an absentee ballot is July 27.
