by | Nov 13, 2025

President Donald Trump is set to participate in a tele-rally for Matt Van Epps, the Republican nominee for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, on Thursday.

The tele-rally for Van Epps will be held at 5:00 p.m. CT on Thursday. The dial in number for the rally is 855-927-0894.

Thursday’s tele-rally will mark the second time Trump has campaigned for Van Epps, who the president endorsed in the Republican primary race.

In the first tele-rally Trump participated in for Van Epps, the president called the Republican candidate “outstanding in so many ways.”

“[W]e have to elect Matt Van Epps to Congress, and I think he’s going to have a tremendously successful run,” the president said at the time. “Get out there and vote.”

Thursday’s tele-rally comes as early voting for the December 2 special general election for the 7th District is underway.

Voters in the 7th District – which includes Stewart, Montgomery, Robertson, Houston, Dickson, Cheatham, Humphreys, Hickman, Perry, Decatur, Wayne, and parts of Davidson, Benton, and Williamson counties – can bank their votes for the special general through November 26.

The final day for voters in the 7th District to request an absentee ballot for the special general election is Saturday, November 22.

Van Epps, Democratic nominee Aftyn Behn, and four Independent candidates – Teresa “Terri” Christie, Bobby Dodge, Robert James Sutherby, and Jon Thorp – will be listed on the general ballot.

Van Epps, who served in multiple roles for the administration of Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point as a commissioned officer and served nine combat deployments, including eight deployments as a Night Stalker helicopter pilot with Clarksville’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

He continues to serve in the Tennessee Army National Guard after 10 years of Active Duty service.
