The U.S. Marshals Service announced that over 100 missing children have been found and more than 1,000 warrants have been cleared since the deployment of federal resources under the Memphis Safe Task Force.
In just over a month since the task force deployed in Memphis, the agency said 105 missing children have been found and reunited with their families as a result of investigative work conducted by local and state authorities assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service Missing Child Unit.
“We are happy that we have been able to use our fugitive hunting skills to assist local and state authorities with finding these missing children,” U.S. Marshals Spokesperson Emily Williams said in a statement.

“What a testament to our partnerships to be able to work these cases together. While investigative work is tedious, locating missing and endangered children is one of the things we are most proud of,” Williams added.
Further, in just 41 days of the federal operation in Memphis, the task force has cleared more than 1,000 local warrants.
Among the warrants cleared included charges for homicide, narcotics, firearms, sex offenses, and others. A total of 203 firearm warrants and 264 narcotics warrants were among those cleared since the deployment of federal resources in the city, according to the U.S. Marshals.
“Over 1000 warrants cleared in 41 days is quick work and we aren’t slowing down,” U.S. Marshals Service Operation Commander Chad Hunt said.
“We will continue to investigate each warrant we adopt and arrest the assailants to make Memphis and Shelby County a safer place to live,” Hunt added.
As of Monday, authorities deployed under the Memphis Safe Task Force have made 2,390 arrests and seized 395 firearms.
