U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX-30) is set to campaign for State Rep. Aftyn Behn (D-Nashville), the Democratic nominee for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, next week in Nashville.
On Friday, November 7 from 12:00-2:00 p.m., Behn will be joined by Crockett at a “Tennessee Town Hall” event at Watson Grove Baptist Church in Nashville. The campaign event is open only to registered participants.
Behn’s campaign said the event will feature “a conversation about the future of Tennessee — from protecting our freedoms to building an economy that works for everyone.”

“Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District has the chance to send a message to the nation: that people power still wins when we fight with heart and purpose,” Crockett, who is reportedly expected to launch a bid for U.S. Senate soon, said in a statement.
Earlier this month, Behn narrowly won the Democratic nomination for the 7th District. She faces Trump-backed Republican nominee Matt Van Epps and four other Independent candidates in the December 2 general election.
Van Epps mocked Behn’s upcoming event with Crockett, writing in an X post, “Do I have to report this as an in-kind contribution?”
The 7th District seat, vacated earlier this year by Mark Green who retired into the private sector, has drawn national attention, with Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin previously calling the race an opportunity to expand the party’s presence in Tennessee.
Martin said in a July interview with the Nashville Banner, “We can’t keep ignoring states like Tennessee. If we do, we’re going to be on the wrong side of things…Special elections, especially right now, are a referendum on the party in power.”

Behn’s campaign touted internal polling this week conducted by the far left Workbench Strategy that shows Van Epps with a 10-point lead (51 percent) over Behn (41 percent), with 7 percent of voters choosing Independent candidates.
Despite this, the polling firm admitted that a Democrat candidate winning in the 7th District “won’t be easy.”
The voter registration deadline for the December 2 special general election for the 7th District is Monday, November 3. Early voting begins November 12.
The 7th District has been represented by Republicans since 1983.
