Sureno 13 Gang Members Among Illegal Aliens Arrested in Memphis, DHS Announces

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has published the names and photos of illegal alien criminals recently arrested in Memphis by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as part of the Memphis Safe Task Force initiative.

Among the arrests include gang members, pedophiles, rapists, domestic abusers, and drug traffickers.

Of the gang members arrested in Memphis include Jose Eduardo Mena Perez, a criminal illegal alien and a Sureno 13 gang member from Mexico convicted of burglary, destroying evidence, unlawful carrying possession of weapon, and arrested for larceny, possession of narcotic equipment, assault, and aggravated assault with a weapon.

Another Sueno 13 gang member recently arrested in Memphis is Jose Eduardo Mena Perez, who is a criminal illegal alien from Mexico convicted of burglary, destroying evidence, unlawful carrying possession of weapon, and faces charges for larceny, possession of narcotic equipment, assault, and aggravated assault with a weapon.

Other recent arrests DHS highlighted include:

  • Luis Alfredo Maldonado-Lopez, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras arrested for the sex offense of fondling a child;
  • Luis Alberto Cordova Bandala, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico arrested for domestic violence, aggravated assault of a police officer, and resisting a law enforcement officer;
  • Henry Rafeal Oseguera-Gonzales, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras convicted of aggravated assault on a family member with a weapon and arrested for domestic violence;
  • Jardi Caal Requena, a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala arrested for domestic violence and for making a physical threat;
  • Michael Hugo Garcia Rodriguez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico with multiple convictions of burglary, driving under the influence of liquor, and arrested for sex assault;
  • Miguel Angel Azamar Ortega, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, convicted of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and an arrest for burglary;
  • Simeon Sosa-Camargo, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico who has been convicted of smuggling aliens into the U.S; and
  • Miguel Torres, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico arrested for selling synthetic narcotics, vehicle theft, traffic offense and drug possession.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said these arrests demonstrate how the federal law enforcement agency is “working hand in glove with Attorney General Bondi to enhance public safety, fight crime, and provide much-needed support to our law enforcement partners at the local, state, and federal level” in Memphis.

“The Trump administration WILL make America safe again,” McLaughlin added.

As of Monday, according to U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, “1,198 arrests have been made, 63 missing children have been located, and 100 known gang members have been arrested” so far under the Memphis Safe Task Force initiative.

Xue Rong Wu, 44, and Xiong Wei Yang, 44, who live in Elizabethton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to harbor aliens for the purpose of commercial advantage and private financial gain, as well as aiding and abetting the practice and pattern of hiring for employment aliens not authorized to be employed in the United States.
