President Trump Endorses TN-5 Rep. Andy Ogles for Reelection

by | Oct 25, 2025

President Donald Trump endorsed Tennessee U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) for re-election on Saturday.

Trump, in a Trust Social post, wrote, “Congressman Andy Ogles is doing a fantastic job representing the incredible people of Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District!”

The president called Ogles a “Conservative Warrior who has strong support from his Community,” and cited his work in the U.S. House “fighting tirelessly to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A. and American Energy DOMINANCE, Safeguard our Elections, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.”

“Andy Ogles [has] my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election – HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!” Trump added.

Ogles, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, has served as the U.S. representative for the Volunteer State’s 5th Congressional District since January 2023 when he flipped the district after it had been served by Democrat Jim Cooper.

He currently serves on the Committee on Financial Services and Committee on Homeland Security.

While in Congress, Ogles has earned a 100 percent lifetime score on the Heritage Action Scorecard, the nation’s leading conservative scorecard.

Before his election to Congress, Ogles served as the mayor of Maury County from 2018 until 2022.

Ogles said he was “honored” to receive Trump’s endorsement.

“From day one, I have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump to put America First, defend Tennessee values, and restore our American Republic,” Ogles said. “The fight for the soul of America is raging, and President Trump needs warriors who will never bend, never break, and never sell out. I will not let him or the people of Tennessee’s Fifth Congressional District down. America First to the end.”

Trump’s endorsement of Ogles comes as the incumbent congressman faces a challenge in the 2026 Republican primary by Dr. Charlie Hatcher, the former Tennessee Agricultural Commissioner, who launched his campaign for the congressional seat earlier this month.

Other candidates seeking to enter the race for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District must declare their candidacy and be qualified for the primary ballot by March 10, 2026.

The primary election for both parties will be held on August 6, 2026 with the general election scheduled for November 3, 2026.
