Mayor Glenn Jacobs Says He’d Use ‘Chokeslam Tombstone’ Move on Gov. Tim Walz in Proposed WWE Charity Match

Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs said he would use the “chokeslam tombstone” move against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz if he were to accept Jacobs’ invite to compete in a charity wrestling match.

Last month, Jacobs, who is widely known for his former professional wrestling career as the WWE legend “Kane,” challenged Walz to face him in a wrestling match after the governor said he believes he could “kick most of [Trump supporters’] asses.”

Jacobs proposed to split the donations raised from the match 50/50 between a charity of each of their choices, and has since revealed that the proposed match has seen nearly $100,000 pledged in donations and even gained a corporate title sponsorship.

On Thursday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show, Jacobs said he “shockingly” has heard “nothing” from Walz on the proposed wrestling match.

“It’s been radio silence,” Jacobs said.

Jacobs said that while Walz’s comments regarding Trump supporters were “completely inappropriate” for an elected official to say, he said he believes the governor’s comments were a direct result of Democratic strategists recommending that Democrats adopt “tough guy” personalities.

“I think what’s happened is a memo has gone out from Democratic strategists and consultants saying, ‘Hey guys, we need to act tough. Donald Trump won because he acted tough, so we need to act tough like Donald Trump’,” Jacobs explained.

Jacobs continued, saying that Democrats suddenly taking on a “tough” persona is a “style versus substance issue.”

“Donald Trump has a certain style, but he also has a substance to pack it up. He is who he is. He is an alpha male. He is legitimately a masculine, tough guy. They have confused style with that. It would be much like, ‘Okay, I’m wearing a black and silver jersey. I’m the Oakland Raiders.’ Well, the problem is, the Oakland Raiders had Bo Jackson, the Democrats have Bo Derek,” Jacobs said.

Jacobs further noted how Democrats have completely “alienated” men and women alike by pushing the ideas of “toxic masculinity” and allowing men to compete in women’s sports.

“They have completely alienated men with this term toxic masculinity. They’ve alienated moms with men in women’s sports…When you look at these issues, overwhelmingly, people oppose that and they still embrace it,” Jacobs said.

“You know, being a masculine man doesn’t mean that you go out there and cuss, it doesn’t mean that you go out there and act like a jerk. It means you’re self confident. It just means that you are who you are and they think that what it means is you act like a tough guy on the radio or on TV. The problem with that is the average person is pretty smart and could judge a character. They see right through that,” Jacobs added.

Regarding Walz’s claim that he could physically defeat Trump supporters, Jacobs said the governor, whom he referred to as “Tim Happy Hands,” would be best suited to competing in a pillow fight.

“We could just have a big pillow fight because I think that’s what Tim Walz is probably better at anyway,” Jacobs said.

If Walz accepted Jacobs’ wrestling match challenge, the mayor said he would use “the usual” moves against the governor, including the classic WWE “chokeslam tombstone” move.
