Federal agents arrested a Georgia man for allegedly threatening to kill Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and her family.

Aliakbar Mohammad Amin allegedly sent threatening messages over text about Gabbard and her husband.

These alleged text messages said:

“You and your family are going to die soon” and “I will personally do the job if necessary.”
“Death to America means death to America literally, Tulsi is living on borrowed time.
“The home you two own . . . is a legitimate target and will be hit at a time and place of our choosing.”
“Prepare to die, you, Tulsi, and everyone you hold dear. America will burn.”

Furthermore, the federal government also found similar threats Amin made on social media. The 24-year-old had an image showing a firearm pointed at a picture of Gabbard. Another image depicted a firearm pointed at Gabbard and her husband.

Federal agents seized that firearm after conducting a search warrant on Amin’s home.

“The FBI sees all threatening communications as a serious federal offense. We will employ every investigative tool and resource available to identify those responsible and ensure they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said Paul Brown, special agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta.

“Let this arrest serve as a clear warning: if you engage in this kind of criminal behavior, you will be caught and you will go to prison,” he added.

After federal agents arrested Amin last week, Gabbard thanked them for their “service and dedication in apprehending this radicalized, dangerous criminal who repeatedly threatened” her and her family’s life.

Amin’s arrest came a couple of days before Cody Balmer allegedly attempted to kill Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. Balmer set fire to Shapiro’s home on Sunday.

Pennsylvania authorities charged Balmer with attempted murder, aggravated arson, burglary, terrorism, and related offenses.
