DOE, DOJ Launch Team to Investigate Gender Ideology in School Programs and Activities

by | Apr 4, 2025

The Departments of Education (DOE) and Justice (DOJ) announced on Friday that they have created a new team to investigate gender ideology in school programs and activities.

The Title IX Special Investigations Team will have investigators from both departments. It is meant to provide resolutions promptly to protect students, especially female athletes.

This team will be able to deal with the increased number of Title IX complaints.

Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said the new team’s establishment will help women and girls across America who have been “subjected to discrimination and indignity in their educational services.”

McMahon added that the Trump administration has “prioritized” implementing Title IX to “protect female students and athletes.”

“To all the entities that continue to allow men to compete in women’s sports and use women’s intimate facilities: there’s a new sheriff in town. We will not allow you to get away with denying women’s civil rights any longer,” she explained.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said an important priority for the DOJ is “protecting women and women’s sports.”

“This collaborative effort with the Department of Education will enable our attorneys to take comprehensive action when women’s sports or spaces are threatened and use the full power of the law to remedy any violation of women’s civil rights,” Bondi added.

President Donald Trump has signed two executive orders (EO) that protect women’s sports and eliminate gender ideology.

Trump signed the Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports EO in February that would withhold funding for education programs that “deprive women and girls of fair athletic opportunities.” It also prevented biological males from competing in women’s sports.

The United States Department of Agriculture withheld funds from Maine this week after the state violated this EO.

In January, Trump signed the Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism EO, establishing that the federal government only recognized two genders: male and female.

Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, the lawsuit accuses the “all-white supermajority” in the Tennessee General Assembly of unlawfully “cracking” Memphis into three separate congressional districts in order to “dilute” the black “voting power” and eliminate black voters’ ability to elect a candidate of their choice to Congress.
