Trump Sets Record for Executive Orders Issued in First 67 Days of Term

by | Mar 31, 2025

President Donald Trump issued a record number of executive orders (EOs) in the first 67 days of his presidency.

From January 20 to March 27, Trump issued 107 EOs during this time span.

Trump has taken a number of steps since starting his second term.

On his first day in office, he issued 26 EOs ranging from terminating federal government DEI policies, declaring an emergency at America’s borders, ending birthright citizenship, and withdrawing America from the World Health Organization.

The birthright citizenship EO has been struck down in district court.

RealClearPolitics average for Trump’s job approval rating is at 46 percent. When Trump left after his first term, his approval rating was 34 percent.

An AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll released Monday showed Trump’s approval rating at 42 percent.

Eighty-two percent of Republicans approved of Trump’s job as president. Independents and Democrats were much lower at 33 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

The country is much more optimistic about America with Trump as president than at the end of former President Joe Biden’s term.

When Biden left office, 27 percent of Americans were optimistic about the country’s direction. Now, that number sits at 38 percent.

This poll also showed that 49 percent of the American public supports Trump’s handling of immigration. The other highest categories Americans support are government spending and the Israel-Palestine conflict are 46 percent and 44 percent, respectively.

The top three things Americans did not support Trump’s handling of were international trade negotiations (38 percent), the economy (40 percent), and the Russia-Ukraine conflict (41 percent.)

The sampling error for this poll is plus or minus “3.9 percentage points at the 95% confidence level among all adults.”

This poll interviewed 1,229 adults from March 20 to March 24.
