Trump Responds to Zelensky Saying End of War Is Far Away

by | Mar 3, 2025

President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after he said the end of war with Russia is “very, very far away.”

Zelensky made these comments on Sunday.

Trump said this was the “worst statement” Zelensky could have made.

“America will not put up with it for much longer,” Trump said Monday on Truth Social.

“It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia,” Trump added. “What are they thinking?”

These comments by Trump come after Zelensky had a contentious conversation with Trump and Vice President JD Vance last week.

The president told Zelensky he was “gambling with World War III.”

“What you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have,” Trump said.

Zelensky was at the White House to sign a minerals deal with America, but after the Oval Office meeting, Trump canceled the deal.

The Ukranian President said on Sunday that he is still willing to sign a mineral rights deal with America.

The same day, Zelensky went to England to meet with European leaders about how to help Ukraine with its war against Russia. Great Britain Prime Minister Keir Stramer, according to CNN, said America was “an unreliable ally. ”

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA-04) suggested on Sunday that Zelensky needs “to come to his senses” or resign so another person can help Ukraine achieve peace.

Also, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said last week after the meeting if America could ever do business with the Ukranian president again.

“I have tried very hard to maintain support for the efforts of the Ukrainian people to repel the Russian invasion and have expressed admiration for President Zelensky’s leadership during the most difficult times,” Graham said Sunday on X.

“I, like so many others, can only give advice. It’s up to President Zelensky to determine whether or not to take it,” he added.

ACLU Files Federal Lawsuit over Tennessee Redistricting

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and its Tennessee chapter filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of a coalition of voters and Memphis-based organizations on Monday challenging Tennessee’s newly enacted congressional redistricting plan, alleging that Republican lawmakers intentionally dismantled the state’s only “black-majority” congressional district in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, the lawsuit accuses the “all-white supermajority” in the Tennessee General Assembly of unlawfully “cracking” Memphis into three separate congressional districts in order to “dilute” the black “voting power” and eliminate black voters’ ability to elect a candidate of their choice to Congress.
