Minnesota Governor Tim Walz Silent after Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs Challenges Him to Charity Wrestling Match

by | Mar 24, 2025

Minnesota Governor and former Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz has yet to respond to Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacob’s wrestling match challenge to raise money for charity.

On Thursday, Jacobs invited Walz to face him in a wrestling match after the governor said he believes he could “kick most of [Trump supporters’] asses.”

Walz made the comments during an appearance on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s new podcast which aired on Tuesday.

In response, Jacobs, who is widely known for his former professional wrestling career as the WWE legend “Kane,” challenged Walz to a wrestling match to raise money for the charities of their choice.

“All joking aside, [Tim Walz], let’s put our money where our mouth is…in a charity wrestling match. We’ll split the gate 50/50 between our chosen organizations. I’ll kick things off myself with a $10,000 donation. What do you say?” Jacobs wrote in a now-viral post on X.

Since challenging Walz, Jacobs’ offer has been promoted by the likes of The Benny Show host Benny Johnson, Outkick founder Clay Travis, and Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec who have all pledged $10,000 each towards the charity wrestling match.

In addition, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis offered for the match to be held at a venue in the Sunshine State, writing in an X post, “Florida can serve as the neutral site host. We’ve got a lot of great spots and a lot of wrestling fans.”

Conservative radio show host Dana Loesch has also volunteered to referee the match.

On Sunday, Jacobs said donations for the proposed match have since grown close to $100,000 in pledges and has also gained a corporate title sponsorship.

“C’mon, [Tim Walz], let’s raise some money for a good cause!” Jacobs said.
