Leftist Group Planning Protests at Tesla Dealerships Across Tennessee on Saturday

by | Mar 20, 2025

The group Indivisible Tennessee is planning “Tesla Takedown” protests at four Tesla showrooms across the Volunteer State on Saturday.

At 1:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, March 22, the group plans to stage protests outside the Tesla showrooms located in Franklin, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Bartlett.

The group is instructing those who attend Saturday’s protests to “not park or go on Tesla private property” and to only protest on public sidewalks.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) posted a copy of the group’s announcement on X, along with several tags to alert local Tennessee law enforcement agencies.

Indivisible Tennessee, a statewide network of the nationwide Indivisible progressive organization, describes itself as a group “brought together by a practical guide to resist the Trump agenda” which seeks to take “regular, iterative, and increasingly complex actions to resist the GOP’s agenda, elect local champions, and fight for progressive policies.”

On Wednesday, Indivisible Tennessee likened supporters of Tesla CEO Elon Musk to “cult members.”

“Elon Musk is NOT smart. If you are obsessed with a billionaire, you’re in a cult and you’re a shi*** person who is probably a Fake KKKristian too,” the group wrote in a Facebook post.

Tesla dealerships and showrooms across the U.S. have been targeted in recent weeks by violent attacks and protests organized by left-wing groups who oppose Musk’s involvement in the Trump administration as he oversees the new U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

In response to the violent attacks on Tesla, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Tuesday that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating the attacks on Musk’s company as “domestic terrorism.”

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino also confirmed on Wednesday that the bureau is actively “working on the Tesla incidents” in an effort to “keep the Homeland safe.”

Musk, during an interview on Fox News, responded to the violent attacks on Tesla vehicles and showroom across the nation, saying, “I always thought that Democrats were supposed to be the party of empathy and caring, and yet they are burning down cars, firebombing dealerships, firing bullets into dealerships.”

“Tesla is a peaceful company, we’ve never done anything awful,” Musk added.

Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, the lawsuit accuses the “all-white supermajority” in the Tennessee General Assembly of unlawfully “cracking” Memphis into three separate congressional districts in order to “dilute” the black “voting power” and eliminate black voters’ ability to elect a candidate of their choice to Congress.
