John Fredericks Secures Spot in the White House Pool Rotation

by | Mar 13, 2025

Pennsylvania-based radio show host John Fredericks called in to The Michael Patrick Leahy Show live from the White House on Thursday morning as he prepared to join the press pool in the Oval Office as President Donald Trump met with the Secretary General of NATO.

Fredericks said he is officially included in the Thursday White House pool rotation after having the privilege revoked by former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki under the previous administration.

“I’ve been [in the Oval Office] many times during Trump 1.0, probably in the Oval Office 20 times for various events that we’ve had, some private, some public. This is the first time that I’ll be there with the pool rotation…I was there 2017 to 2020 until they wouldn’t renew me, when Jen Psaki canceled us,” Fredericks explained.

Fredericks said even though the Trump administration has taken over which outlets will be part of the daily press pool, he noted its “the same old story” when it comes to which outlets continue to have a front row seat to White House events.

“It’s the same old story. They get the whole fake news up there in the front row,” Fredericks said.

“You have to deal with the nonsense of these people in the front row. Basically, they’re dinosaurs. They don’t reach anybody. The whole thing is ridiculous and they hate us,” Fredericks added.

When it comes to his participation in Thursday’s event, Fredericks said the question he would pose to the president if given the chance would be why some Republicans are “discouraging a ceasefire in Ukraine.”

“If I were to ask him right now, I would be like, help me understand why we have Republicans that are discouraging a ceasefire in Ukraine when every day young men and women are being put through that meat grinder and just getting slaughtered every day. Why do we have members of our party that want that to continue? What is the baseline of that?” Fredericks said.
