Illegal Immigrant from Honduras Indicted in Tennessee Following Pawn Shop Robbery

by | Mar 25, 2025

A federal grand jury indicted a man from Honduras who entered America illegally in 2022 for a robbery of a pawn shop in Dickson, which saw over 40 firearms stolen.

On Tuesday, 20-year-old Manuel De Jesus Guirola-Amaya was indicted by the grand jury with possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, possession of a stolen firearm, and stealing firearms from a federal firearms licensee.

On December 5, 2024, Guirola-Amaya and three accomplices are accused of ramming the front door of Golden Eagle Pawn, a Federal Firearms Licensee, with a stolen vehicle before entering the business and fleeing with over 40 firearms, according to court documents cited by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In the hours following the burglary, a La Vergne Police Department officer stopped a car with an expired registration driven by Guirola-Amaya. Upon searching the vehicle, police found two backpacks containing seven pistols that had been stolen in the pawn shop burglary and still had the price tags attached inside the trunk.

In addition, one of the backpacks found in the vehicle also held suspected marijuana and a set of digital scales, the U.S. Attorney’s Office notes.

Law enforcement later executed a federal search warrant at a residence tied to Guirola-Amaya, where it discovered, among other things, “a high-capacity magazine, ammunition, and price tags consistent with the Golden Eagle Pawn price tags.”

Several search warrants were also executed on cell phones found on Guirola-Amaya or in the vehicle the day of his arrest, which “provided further ties to the burglary including photographs and videos of firearms, location data, and search queries.”

If convicted, Guirola-Amaya faces a maximum of 35 years in federal prison and a $750,000 fine on the three counts.

This indictment is taking place in the Middle District of Tennessee.
