Tyler O’Neil, managing editor of The Daily Signal, previewed his new book titled, “The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government” on Friday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show, explaining how his latest publication explores how dark money groups “infiltrated and brainwashed the federal government” under the Biden administration.
“The Woketopus,” released on January 21, “explains how America’s elites are pulling the strings in Washington to prioritize their pet projects over the needs of the American people.”
O’Neil said the book shows “how the left dark money network is propping up the far left activist groups that infiltrated and brainwashed the federal government under Biden’s tenure.”
O’Neil said that while dark money groups existed and had influence over the government before the Biden administration, the scope of their influence increased dramatically during Biden’s tenure.
“It was during the Biden administration that we really had the gloves fully come off, the woke activism took over everything. Part of that is because Biden himself was little more than a figurehead, but part of it is also because the left saw what they experienced under Trump’s first term, and they wanted to get everything they could just in case Trump was to win again,” O’Neil explained.
O’Neil said the book focuses heavily on how activist groups pursue their woke agendas by bypassing Congress and entrenching its interests in the federal government through the administrative state.
“What I focus on mostly in the book is how [non-governmental organizations] impact the administrative state. Many groups are trying to get their agenda enshrined in the regulations that the administrative state passes. They’re often not even bothering with Congress because Congress moves more slowly and Congress is more accountable to the voters. These activists know that they can force their agenda through the administrative state, and that’s the main thing that they’ve been able to do,” O’Neil explained.
“That’s why woke has been so successful at permeating the federal government, because the elites in our country all generally favor these woke groups. They’re funding these groups, and then these groups are infiltrating the administrative state,” O’Neil added.
