EJ Haust: The Democratic Party Is Acting Like a Tired Toddler

by | Feb 7, 2025

EJ Haust, a digital marketing expert and official guest host of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show, compared the current antics of the Democratic Party to that of a “tired toddler,” explaining how the party is taking a “last stand” and not yet understanding that it must pivot to a new strategy to strike a chord again with voters.

Haust said the Democrats’ current strategy is “throwing everything they can against the wall” to see what sticks as well as “fighting things that everyone in America wants.”

“They have no coherent message…If you’re part of the 20 percent who want males in women’s sports…or if you’re more concerned with Elon Musk finding fraud than actually ending fraud…and you keep screeching and keep screeching, you clearly don’t see what’s right in front of you, which is your ilk is your era,” Haust explained on Friday’s show.

“The era of your ilk is over. That’s it. You’re done now. You’re either going to have to pivot or you need to retire,” Haust added.

Haust said Democrats’ refusal to accept how out of touch they are with voters is comparable to a “tired toddler” who “digs in” as a “last stand” before giving up; however, he noted that the party has not yet gotten to the stage of regrouping and adopting a new, winning strategy.

“Have you ever seen a tired toddler who is hungry and it’s naptime and they’re having a tantrum and they go through this cycle of starting to whine. Then they’re screaming and crying and then they dig in cause they’re like, all right, this is my last stand – I’m digging in. Then they really scream and really screech and really cry, and that’s when they get on the floor and bang their hands,” Haust said.

“I feel like that’s where we are with the Democrats, and at some point, daddy comes home and says it’s over. We’re not doing this anymore. You’re going to get punished. You’re going to time out – and they give up. They’re just not to that stage where they give up yet,” Haust added.
