Nashville’s New Year’s Eve Event Generated Record $41 Million in Visitor Spending

by | Jan 24, 2025

A record-breaking $41 million in direct visitor spending was generated during last month’s New Year’s Eve event at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp announced Thursday.

In addition to the $41 million generated from Jack Daniel’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, the event also drew a record-breaking crowd of approximately 220,000 attendees – 90 percent of which were attending for the first time in the event’s 16-year history.

The $41 million generated by the event is an increase from the $38 million generated by the New Year’s Eve event held two years prior. Figures were not released for last year’s event.

“With record attendance and $41 million in direct visitor spending, Nashville’s Big Bash continues to generate enormous economic activity for the city during a traditionally slow time for our industry,” Deana Ivey, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp, said in a statement.

“Along with some new accolades from major travel outlets, this success underscores Music City’s enduring appeal as a destination for world-class events and entertainment in 2025,” Ivey added.

The New Year’s Eve event featured more than 40 back-to-back performances, the famed red Music Note drop at midnight, and a 90-second fireworks display to ring in 2025.

Aired by CBS and streamed on Paramount+, the live event was hosted by country singer and songwriter Keith Urban. It featured musical performances by country stars Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Parker McCollum, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Tyler Hubbard, Miranda Lambert, Post Malone, Shaboozey, Brittney Spencer, Chris Stapleton, Zach Top, Lainey Wilson, and others.

The event was found to have resulted in an 88 percent occupancy rate of hotels in downtown Nashville and increased the hotel demand on New Year’s Eve by 7.2 percent from the previous year.
