Nashville’s Independence Day celebration will be headlined this year by country music artist Chris Young, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp announced.

This year’s free event, Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th, will present one of the country’s largest July 4th fireworks shows synchronized to live music from the Nashville Symphony and, for the first time, incorporate drone light elements by Sky Elements Drone Show.

The all-day event, which opens at 11:00 a.m., will include an Amazon Family Fun Zone and live performances by DJ Coach, Joe West Band, San Rafael Band, Small Time Rock Stars, The Woods, and The Magi until 4:55 p.m. at the Music City Walk of Fame.

Prior to the the 9:30 p.m. firework show, headliner Young will be joined on the Jack Daniel’s Broadway Stage, located at First and Broadway, by a “multi-genre lineup,” including Yola, Girl Named Tom, and Blessing Offor for the main show before the fireworks show.

The event will then shift to Ascend Amphitheater for the live performance by the Nashville Symphony and the fireworks show after the live concert.

The Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp said the city’s annual July 4 event was created to “entertain Nashvillians and attract visitors to generate economic activity and tax revenue for the city.”

Last year, the event generated $11.6 million in estimated direct visitor spending and an estimated 250,000 in attendance.

This year’s event, presented by Dr. Pepper, is the 21st annual celebration produced by Music City Inc. through the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and the 40th in the city.
